Phil Walker, CFP®, JD
After graduating from college in 1992, I had the opportunity to work with a highly respected international accounting firm. After accounting, I moved on to study law, graduating in 1999. I was then blessed to spend nearly a decade working with an Alabama law firm full of wonderful people and exceptional lawyers. However, most of my work as an accountant and lawyer was backward-looking. I was helping clients deal with the consequences of decisions already made and actions previously taken, rather than assisting them in making the best choices for their present and future.

One of the most gratifying parts of my job is when I help clients navigate choices they didn’t even know existed. After spending years as an accountant and lawyer advising clients how to make the best of events and decisions that had already occurred, it was, and still is, a pleasure to invest every day helping clients shape their financial future.
I worked with a local investment management firm specializing in company retirement plans and individuals, but I soon realized that I desired to dive more deeply into the issues and financial choices that can profoundly impact the retirement and lives of individuals and families.
Because no advisor can be all things to all people, and the needs of company retirement plans can be very different,I founded Walker Wealth Advisors to provide a fee-only option exclusively for individuals and families. This specific focus has allowed me to expand the breadth and depth of services that I offer to clients, empowering them to make the best financial choices for their own unique situations.
From July 2012 until August 2021, I enjoyed serving clients through Walker Wealth Advisors. Toward the end of 2020, Eric and I began discussing our desire to merge to better serve clients. On August 1, 2021, our merger was finalized, and I am thrilled to now serve clients through Approach Retirement Advisors, LLC.
I am honored that I’m able to provide retirement planning and management in Pensacola, where I live with my wife Susie, whom I met the first day of law school orientation, and our two beautiful children. Susie is a proud native of our beautiful area. We enjoy raising our family in Pensacola, and we delight in its development into a thriving town where people of all ages – including our own children – can pursue and realize their dreams.
